Vision:
The vision of the business studies program in Grades 9 is for all students to acquire and develop the knowledge and skills related to entrepreneurship and business that will support them in innovating to address the needs and challenges of markets and communities, today and in the future. The program sparks students’ curiosity and interest in entrepreneurship and business and prepares them to apply their education to real-world economic, social, environmental, and ethical challenges and opportunities.
The business studies curriculum in Grades 9 and 10 consists of two courses, both built on the principle that effective learning in all parts of the discipline depends on the development of knowledge and skills in five critical areas: business and entrepreneurial skills; business communications; financial literacy; digital literacy; and business ethics and corporate social responsibility, as illustrated in the diagram below.

The expectations in the Grade 9 course are organized into three distinct but related strands:
- Business Leadership, Project Management, and Connections
- The Entrepreneurial Mindset
- Business Communications
